NEXT BOARD MEETING:

The location for the meeting is 17-19 Crawford St., Newark, New Jersey.

The Board of Education of the Great Oaks Legacy Charter School of Newark will hold the following regular meetings during the 2026-27 school year, at which action may be taken. All meetings will start at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted, and be held at a Great Oaks Legacy Charter School campus:

  • July 23, 2026 (17-19 Crawford St.)
  • August 20, 2026 (240 14th Avenue) (Retreat: 4:00 PM. Regular Meeting: 6:00 PM)
  • September 17, 2026 (909 Broad St.)
  • October 22, 2026 (909 Broad St.)
  • November 19, 2026 (17-19 Crawford St.)
  • December 17, 2026 (24 Maiden Lane)
  • January 21, 2027 (308 S. 9th Street)
  • February 18, 2027 (823 South 16th St.)
  • March 18, 2027 (240 14th Avenue)
  • April 29, 2027 (909 Broad St.)
  • May 27 2027 (24 Maiden Lane)
  • June 15, 2027 (17-19 Crawford St.)

In accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975c. 231, a retreat of the Board of Education of the Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 4:00pm at Heights Middle School located at 240 14th Avenue. To the extent known, the agenda will include goals for 2026-2027. The Board of Education will meet in executive session if necessary. No formal action will be taken.

The Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, signed into law in 1987, supports challenges enrolling, attending and succeeding in school for any student experiencing housing insecurity.
